Music Making Workshop (K-2nd)
This class is for students who are K-2nd grade that want to learn the basics of music while having fun. We will cover steady beat and rhythm as well as pitch and tempo and many other music making skills, while using instruments and having fun. (Workshops are 2 hours. Cost $80 per student.)
Beginning Recorder Workshop (3rd – 5th)
This class is for students who are 3rd – 5th grades that want a general music class, learning the basics of music making. They will be learning basic music reading skills in the treble clef and playing a recorder. Percussion instruments are used for the basics of rhythm and counting as well. A short concert will happen at the end. (Workshops are 2 hours. $80)
Middle School Bells/Chimes (6th – 8th)
This class will take students through the basics of reading music in the treble and bass clef and playing as an ensemble. Counting in different time signatures as well as basic chime/bell technique will be taught. A short concert will happen at the end. (Workshops are 2 hours. Cost is $80 per student.)
Beginning Piano (K-2nd):
This beginning piano class is catered towards K-2nd students. Students will learn basic piano technique, rhythm, and reading music, at a pace most appropriate for them. This class allows students to develop their fine motor skills, sight recognition of patterns and basic ear training. Students will learn to play by themselves and with others and will often be encouraged to play in front of others.
Beginning Piano (3rd – 5th):
This beginning piano class is for older students. They will learn the basics of piano and how to read music. They will be learning to read quarter notes, half notes, whole notes, two-eighth note rhythms and learn all the intervals of 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th, as well as some simple transposition. They will learn to play on their own as well as in front of others.
